The Military Health Institute is proud to present the Distinguished Lecture in Military Health by Dr Jon Kerstetter, MD. “Doc” Kerstetter received his medical degree from the Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota, and his MFA degree from Ashland University in Ohio. He served as a physician and flight surgeon for the U.S. Army and completed three combat tours in Iraq. His writing has appeared in The Best American Essays, River Teeth, and other literary journals.
His book, Crossings, is a memoir of his personal journey from an austere upbringing through medical education, wartime service in the Army, and then recovery from a stroke and PTSD that he suffered upon returning from Iraq. Reception at 6:00 Lecture at 7:00 RSVP at MHI@uthscsa.edu
