2025 Military Health Institute Honors Veterans at UT Health San Antonio

On November 11, 2025, the Military Health Institute (MHI) hosted a campus-wide Veterans Day celebration to honor the service, sacrifice, and enduring contributions of our nation’s veterans. The event was led by Dr. Robert I. Miller, Director of the Military Health Institute, and brought together leaders committed to supporting military service members, veterans, and their families across South Texas.

Event Highlights
Dr. Cigarroa delivered a powerful reflection on the meaning of Veterans Day, emphasizing that “the extraordinary willingness and sacrifice of ordinary citizens forms the foundation of the freedoms we enjoy in the United States of America.” His remarks underscored the profound national debt owed to all who have worn the uniform.
Dr. Mike Logan shared his personal journey through military service and higher education. He highlighted the resilience, discipline, and enduring sense of purpose instilled during his time in the Marine Corps, noting how these attributes shaped both his academic success and lifelong commitment to service.
