Event Details:
The 4th Annual San Antonio Combat PTSD Conference is presented by the STRONG STAR Consortium, the Consortium to Alleviate PTSD, and The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (also known as UT Health San Antonio). The conference is focused on emerging outcomes and ongoing scientific research on the assessment and treatment of combat-related posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and comorbid conditions in military service members and veterans who deployed after 9/11 in support of combat operations.

The STRONG STAR Consortium and the Consortium to Alleviate PTSD (CAP) include over 150 collaborating national scientists and clinicians funded by the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs to develop and evaluate approaches for the prevention and treatment of combat-related PTSD and related mental health problems among active duty military personnel and veterans.

Under the leadership of UT Health San Antonio, STRONG STAR and the CAP bring together the expertise of a world-class, interdisciplinary team of military, civilian and VA institutions and investigators and one of the largest populations of active duty and recently discharged veterans who have deployed in support of combat operations following 9/11. With the critical mass of talent required to make major scientific advances in military PTSD research, STRONG STAR and CAP investigators strive to improve countless lives by preventing the development of chronic PTSD and related problems in a new generation of veterans while advancing the science through research with evidence-based and cutting-edge therapies.
