Insomnia is a widespread problem in the U.S. military and the most commonly reported symptom following deployment. A new study published online in the journal Sleep found that cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia , a form of talk therapy, was highly effective with an active duty population.

Reflections on Service

Several faculty members were interviewed to reflect on their service in the military and at UT Health San Antonio. A wonderful compendium of anecdotes were shared for all to hear. What came up often was the fact that the core values of the military and UT Health San Antonio were very much similar in their commitment to service and to help others.



Military Institute Leaders Convene

March 14, 2017

MHI met with its counterparts from University of Pittsburgh, Boston University, UT Southwestern, Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, USUHS to discuss issues of common interest related to setting goals and objectives for improving the health of military service members and their families. Opportunities for collaboration were discussed over a full agenda for the day.
